I fee like I keep saying it has been a while very time I post. The problem (good thing?) is that life is good and happy and busy so I don’t have much time to blog. But, I do enjoy this space and keeping myself accountable so I will continue to do it when I can.

I have to say, exercise has become such a mainstay in my life that most days I am on autopilot with it. I can’t tell you the last time I missed a planned workout and I have even added a six day (most weeks) to my schedule. I absolutely love to exercise and the feeing I get when I am finished. I have started running (slowly) and I am up to about 15 minutes straight. Six weeks ago I could barely make it a minute so I would say that is progress.

Tyler joined me on Thanksgiving for a Turkey Trot. His 54 pound body was pushed in the stroller.

My eating has been okay. I am really trying to make good choices and always put down protein first. I have never in my life not felt hunger so it is difficult when I am not hungry but know I need to eat. This might be the biggest struggle. I am hoping it gets easier the father out I am.

Looking “normal” in this dress (circa 1995)

I met with the doctor last week and I am down 88 pounds. I am thrilled with this and hope to be down 100 by the new year, but we shall see. I feel like I have about 35 more pounds to go, but I am really not making a goal weight. When I know I will know. My next appointment is in March so I am hoping I will be at a place to talk maintenance then.

I think that is about it for now. Life is good and I do hope to blog more in the coming weeks.

Anything new with any of you?

Rest Week

The business of life and ignoring my symptoms finally caught up with me. On Monday I could not get out of bed. I quickly called a sub and made an appointment to see the doctor.

Bronchitis

Double Ear Infections

Achy Everywhere

I slept the majority of the day and I must say it was glorious. The rest of week was spent working, momming, and resting.

I skipped my workouts which made me feel guilty for like a minute until I remembered that I was unable to take a deep breath.

Good times.

Now I am feeling much better. One thing I do like about the time change is it does force us to come inside early and relax in the evening.

We also have the chance to ask up daytime hours. The weather has been absolutely beautiful here. I wish it could stay like this for a good while.

I will be back to the gym on Monday. I am looking forward to the next week and a half because it is the lead up to my favorite holiday.  THANKSGIVING!

Have a good week!

Still Here

When I said I was a busy a few weeks ago, I meant it. Things have been crazy over here and this weekend seemed to be the first climax to the busy season.

We surprised my mom with an early party for her 70th birthday. We brought in friends and family from near and far. It was a total blast and so much fun. She was so surprised and grateful and humbled. It was amazing.

Her face said it all. Total shock.

It was such a lovely weekend.

I am absolutely exhausted and my body was not happy with me. I ended up in the doctors office on Monday with bronchitis and a double ear infection. I am feeing better now with some good drugs, lots of sleep, and very litte of anything else.

I wanted to go back to the gym this morning, but my body did not agree. One more day will do a world of good I am thinking.

Now I have grades due on Friday, a million papers to grade and report before then…the kids are in a production of Willy Wonka all weekend so we have family coming into town for that.

But, I have to keep reminding myself, busy is good and I wouldn’t want it any other way. I do love the life I live.

I had a meeting last night at school and Megan came with. We fit in an “girls only” ice cream date afterwards. We split a cotton candy in a cup. I actually thought it was gross after one bite, but Megs loved it.

I want to slow down and enjoy moments like these. Time is fleeting. I love my girl.

Have a great weeke everyone!

Halloween Without All the Candy

I have never celebrated a Halloween in my entire life where I was not obsessed with eating ALLTHECANDY!!!

I just focused on the fun of the day. I dressed up for school (I didn’t get the memo that most teachers were not dressing up) and enjoyed celebrating the event with my kiddos.

And I did have some candy.

But nothing like I would have had in the past.

Shawn did some really cool make-up on the big kids. Who knew he had such a talent with make-up? Not me.

Ryan and Megan and I waked for 2 hours straight. A slow walk, but a walk nonetheless.

Tyler ran with some neighbors and they fizzled out after about an hour.

Megan was a DIY spider that turned out exceptional.

Ty was a superhero…obvi

And #3 was a football player, because, well, Ryan always gets hand me downs.

Everyone was happy, there were no melt downs, and all three went to bed with a drowsy smile on their face. #winning

I was up this morning for a 5 mile walk which was not necessary easy but worth it. I am looking forward to really enjoying holidays this season and not just the food!
